The weekend's first EPL game is kicking off very early Eastern on Saturday from Anfield as hosts Liverpool takes on Newcastle in a matchup where we should see goals.

This is a big chance for the home team to extend the lead at the top of the Premier League to five points and put pressure on Manchester City who plays later in the day, Jurgen Klopp has his eyes on the title and games like this have to be won.

Liverpool has won 13 league games in a row for the first time in their history and again ran out comfortable winners last time out when winning at Burnley by a 3-0 scoreline.

It started when Trent Alexander-Arnold's intended cross to the far post brushed the back of Chris Wood and sailed over the head of the keeper and it only got worse from there for the home team as captain Ben Mee inadvertently found Roberto Firmino who laid up Mane to fire low past Pope.

Draw No Bet

The game calmed down and there were few chances after the break, but Liverpool made it 3-0 when Firmino stroked the ball into the net to pick up a deserved goal in his man of the match performance.

Since the start of last season, no Liverpool player has scored more goals in all competitions than Mane and he’s overtaken Salah as the focal point of the attack.

Steve Bruce

Newcastle has had a strange start to the season, losing matches they shouldn’t and winning ones they didn’t expect to have a chance in.

The fans at the club have zero optimism for this season and the appointment of Steve Bruce as coach was met with ridicule after losing the much loved Rafa Benitez.

They followed up the incredible victory over Spurs with a disappointing draw at home to bottom-placed Watford, Will Hughes steered the opening goal into the corner from 10 yards after just 78 seconds before Newcastle leveled up with a goal from defender Fabian Schar.

Schar has scored five Premier League goals, more than any other current Newcastle player which shows the lack of firepower in this squad.

Allan Saint-Maximin and Matt Ritchie are still out for the hosts and that means Steve Bruce again has no wingers, he may choose to play an extra defender given the opposition here.

Liverpool won this fixture last season in December by a 4-0 scoreline and we might be heading for something similar today.

Our Pick

Liverpool to win the match (-2 on the Asian Handicap) pays out at -159 with DraftKings

This match could be an uncomfortable watch for Newcastle fans and the team they have surely won’t be able to handle Liverpool.

The home offense will be far too good and they seem to be ready to score three or four goals a game now, the Newcastle defense has struggled already this season against a quick attack and they don’t come any faster than this, take Liverpool to win with ease.
